This temple is near Kumbakonam city. On the way there is one more Divya desam called Adhanoor. Many buses from Kumbakonam bus stand pass through this temple.
The final funeral of Jadaayu was done under a “ Punnai” tree in this temple by Lord Rama himself. Lord Vishnu gave his dharshan to Sri Rama and Sri Ramar gave his Dharshan to Thirumangai Mannan later.
This temple is beautiful and recently renovated by a businessman. Lord Vishnu showed Dharshan for himself at this temple. Sri Ramar born and brought up as an ordinary human being, met Lord Parasuramar (Previous avathaar). He minimized or reduced the egos of Parasuramar by defeating in a war with him and finally got his friendship and his blessings.
